Step1: Select the workbench
1.Launch solidworks2009
2.Select Start>new >a 3d representation.of a singe desinge component
3.Save file .Rename PartBody ” Connection-shaft”
Step2:Draw the main body of “Connection-shaf”
1.Set the workbenth “front plane",and click theicon.Creat a new sketch1 (or click the icon).Draw the sketch with the line icon, centerline icon, three point arc icon and smart dimension icon.Look at Figure2.Don’t forget to quit the sketch workbench.

2.Revovle1.Set the sketch1. The path: insert>Boss/Base > Revovle (or click the boss/base - Revovle icon in the feature toolbar). As shown in Figure3 ane Figure4.

3.Set the workbenth “right plane",and click theicon.Creat a new sketch2 (or click the icon).Draw the sketch with the line icon, centerline icon, sketch fillet icon and smart dimension icon.As shown in Figure5.Don’t forget to quit the sketch workbench.

4.Cut-Extrude1. The path: insert>Cut>Extrude (or click the Extrude icon in the Feature toolbar). Set the Direction1 and Direction2. Select’Through All’in the terminations conditions as shown in Figure6 and Figure7.

5.Creat the Mirror of cut-Extrude1. The path:insert>Pattern/Mirror>Mirror(Or click the icon in the surface tolbar).As shown in Figure8 and Figure9.

6.Set the workbenth “right plane",and click theicon.Creat a new sketch3 (or click the icon).Draw the sketch with the line icon, three point arc icon and smart dimension icon.As shown in Figure11.Don’t forget to quit the sketch workbench.
