Step 1. Open a Part Drawing.
Using the File Pull-Down Menu , Select Open then select Part Drawing from Sub-menu.
Select “2D_Exercise1” from the “Open” dialog box. Click the “Open” button to continue. The
part drawing window will appear. Click on the “Laser Tooling”
tab (figure 1) to enable the CAM functions.
Step 2. Setting the
Machine.
Click on the Part
Setttings  command.
The Part Settings dialog
box will appear. On the
“Basic” tab, make sure
that a cutting machine
that you wish to use is
selected (figure 2). Click
the “Done” button to
continue.

Step 3. Laser Autotooling.
Click the Auto Tool  command button. The Laser Autotooling window will appear (figure
3). This window allows you to setup various preferences regarding laser tool assignment.
Each of these items are covered in the User Guide. For this exercise, only select “All
Entities” near the top of the window. Click “OK”. The part will now be displayed with the laser
path and direction (figure 4).
