Lab 1 - Create a New Problem. Import and Manipulate
Workpiece
Create new problem
Use the New Project  icon on the top left corner of the DEFORM-F2 window to
create a new project.
Make the Project name Bolt and the Title Bolt Forming.
Units will be English and Geometry type will be Axisymmetric.
Click the  button to go to the next input screen.
Assign operation name
Set the Operation name to be Extrude. Click the  button.
Assign process type
The Process type will be Cold forming. This selection sets many default settings for
various process conditions.
Set shape complexity and simulation accuracy
The shape complexity and simulation accuracy slider bars influence the mesh settings and
number of time steps used in the simulation. This, in turn, influences the run time and
level of detail available in the simulation.
For this simulation, we will use the default Moderate complexity and Moderate accuracy
