Measuring an Entity
This is the basic procedure for measuring an entity:
1. Select Global—Analysis—Length/Area. The Length/Area Analysis form
is displayed.
2. Select the entity to identify. The Length/Area Analysis form displays
measurements for the entity.
3. Select the Options button. The Analyze Options form is displayed and
shows general characteristics of the entity.
Measuring Portions of an Entity
In the Length/Area feature (Global—Analysis—Length/Area), you can measure
a portion of an entity using latched symbols. Perform one of the following tasks
to highlight the analyzed portion.
■ Latch the active symbol to the entity. The portion from the entity start point
to the latched symbol is analyzed.
■ Latch both symbols to the entity. The portion between the two symbols is
analyzed.
■ Latch the active symbol to the entity and swap symbols. The portion from the
reference symbol to the entity endpoint is analyzed.
