Start distance, Edge clearance
To exclude the hub fillets and the hub surface from machining, you can raise the paths in the
fillet area to a defined clearance area (1).
The paths are raised continually from a given start distance (2).
By reducing the feedrate, you can avoid potential tool overload caused by increased
amounts of rest material in the transition area.
Lift off paths
The “empty” lift off paths run parallel to the toolpath at the level of the edge clearance.
You can adjust the feedrate for these paths to match the empty cutting condition.
