Q: Many of my custom macros use UNIX utilities like awk and sed. Can
these be used on Windows?
A: No. You can perhaps work around this issue with awk and sed to do customizations if you
purchase some 3rd party software. Try MKS Toolkit from Mortice Kern Systems
(http://www.mks.com/). They supply these UNIX utilities that will run on the PC. SofTech does
not warrant that these 3rd party solutions will prove effective to help porting your customizations
that rely on them.
Q: ScriptLink has some Windows-like features in it. What’s going on
here?
A: ScriptLink on Windows is a hybrid of the X-windows implementation from UNIX with some
Windows features added. ScriptLink is implemented under X-windows using Hummingbird
