NOTE: Baud Rates for every machine Control must be individually matched. Every machine Control requires its own
setting. If you are unsure of your machine’s particular Baud Rate, select 4800. This speed can be increased after the
initial set up.
NOTE: Settings in figure 3.5 are only for Xon/Xoff flow Control. Xon/Xoff refers to a common protocol used in serial
communications. In order for data transmission to take place, both (sending & receiving) devices must be ready. The Xon
command must be provided by the receiving device before information is transmitted.
NOTE: Remember, protocols like Hardware Handshaking, or FTP (File Transfer Protocol), have different settings. If
your machines require settings that are different from the parameters shown in 3.8, please consult your machine control
instructions.
NOTE: Remember, Flow Control must match your machine’s specific needs. To assure that this occurs, simply click on
the arrow button at the Flow Control field. A list of Flow Control Settings will appear. In addition, when you choose a
specific Flow Control, more setting’s menus may appear in the “C.S.P.”. Each of these settings must be configured to
match a specific machine and its parameters. For additional information on Flow Control, see the advanced tutorial.
