Step1: Select the workbench
1.Launch solidworks2009(or click the icon in the desktop)
2.Select Start>new >a 3d representation.of a singe desinge compoent
3.Save file .Rename PartBody “Fan blades”

1. Creat a new reference plane as shown in Figure2.The path : insert>reference geometry>plane.Set the workbenth “ plane",click theicon,creat a new sketch1 (or click the icon) with the centerline iron , three point arc icon and smart dimension icon.Look at Figure3.Don’t forget to quit the sketch workbench.
3. Set the workbenth “right plane",click theicon,creat a new sketch1 (or click the icon) with the centerline iron , tangent arc icon and smart dimension icon.Look at Figure4.Don’t forget to quit the sketch workbench.
4. 1. Launch UG.
2. Click icon, select Model and input name “Shaft”.
3. Click icon, then click icon to create a sketch as shown in Figure1, then click icon.
4. Click icon, select sketch (1) to revolve, then select XC as the vector, then select the yellow point as the point and edit as shown in Figure 2. Then click icon
5. Click icon, then select sketch (1), and click OK icon.
6. Click icon, then select the point method of to cerate two curves as shown in Figure 3.
7. Click icon, and edit as shown in Figure 4, then select the yellow face, then click the yellow curve, and click OK icon.

Step1. Create and name the model of part of INSTANCE_SHAFT2.PRT.
Step2. Create the basis feature of the part—the rotation features of the solid as shown in Figure 2, the relevant operations are as follows.
(1) Select the command of rotation feature: click and select the command.
(2) Select the type of rotation feature: click the icon of solid type.
(3) Define the placement property of sketch section of rotation.
1. Click sketch icon in the control panel, and then click icon.
2. Set sketch plane: select FRONT datum plane as the sketch plane.
3. Set view orientation of the sketch: use default direction of the yellow arrow as view orientation of the sketch.
4. Specify the reference of the sketch plane: select RIGHT datum plane as the reference of the sketch plane.
5. Specify the orientation of reference of the sketch plane: select RIGHT datum plane as the orientation of reference of the sketch plane.
6. Complete the placement property of sketch section: click the button in the window of the definition of the placement property of the sketch section.
(4) Create feature section: draw the feature section as shown in Figure 3 (Drawing centerline is necessary.) Complete it and click the icon .

7. Click icon, select the red face as the planar placement face, and then edit as shown in Figure 6, then click icon.

4 Create feature section: accept the default reference selection, and then draw the section as Figure 3 shown(don’t forget to draw center line). Click button then quit sketch.
5 Define revolving angle: select the type of revolving angle in the control panel, , then enter 360 in the textbox of angel , and press the Enter key.
6 Preview feature: click icon in the control panel to browse the created feature.
7 Finish feature: click icon to finish the rotation.
