the bit-oriented file transfer protocol will be used under
other Network layer protocols.
E. Transport Layer
The Transport layer controls the transportation of data
between a source end-system to a destination end-system. It
provides “network independent” data delivery between
these processing end-systems. It is the highest order of
function involved in moving data between systems. It
relieves higher layers from any concern with the pure
transportation of information between them.
