This manual provides information about the configuration and usage of Teamcenter
for Simulation. Teamcenter® Engineering belongs to the UGS® portfolio of digital
product lifecycle management software and services
This manual contains the following chapters:
Chapter 1 Getting started provides an overview and license information
about CAE Structure Editor (CAE SE). It describes
the interface and the basic tasks involved in managing
engineering analysis data in Teamcenter. It provides
information about launching CAE SE, and configuring various
features and managing preferences specific to engineering
analysis data in Teamcenter. It discusses about the object
types that your administrator sets up for you.
Chapter 2 Preparing CAE data for analysis describes the process
of creating and managing engineering analysis data in
Teamcenter. It describes new CAE items, and provides
information about creating and revising CAE items and
sending items to CAE SE from other Teamcenter applications.
Chapter 3 Managing CAE data for analysis provides information about
managing engineering analysis data in CAE Structure Editor
(CAE SE) and generating CAE model structures using the
data map and/or structure map definitions. It describes
the Product, Model, and Analysis panes, and specific data
panel objects. It also describes the batch meshing feature in
Teamcenter.
Chapter 4 Defining structure map rules provides an overview and the
process of creating and managing structure map rules in
Structure Map Builder. It describes the interface and provides
information about launching Structure Map Builder.

The Teamcenter Manufacturing – Tecnomatix collaboration context integration
allows data sharing and exchange between Teamcenter Manufacturing and
Tecnomatix. The integration components are released as part of the Teamcenter
Engineering product, and you should refer to the Teamcenter Engineering
installation documentation for information about installing and licensing of the base
product. Integration components must also be installed on the Tecnomatix system,
and you should refer to the Tecnomatix documentation for information about this
requirement.

This chapter describes Teamcenter interoperability, the process of linking
Teamcenter applications so that objects in one application can be shared by another
Teamcenter application.Interoperability allows you to create and maintain links between objects in one Teamcenter application with objects in the other Teamcenter applications and to
launch the other application so that it displays the linked object.
There are various types of links a Teamcenter user can create in order to link
with other remote Teamcenter applications. Some of these links are available only
between certain applications. Others are available across Teamcenter applications.

The SMS software distribution process contains three steps designed to target a collection of SMS resources.
· Package Creation and Distribution
· Program Creation and Configuration
· Creation of Program Advertisements
In order to advertise software to SMS clients, the first step is to create a package. A package contains the files and/or instructions that SMS must use to distribute software to a distribution point. Clients access distribution points to obtain a package.
Software packages contain the files that SMS clients will need to execute, copy, read, etc. These files must be copied to a distribution point in the SMS site where the targeted clients are located. If a package is not placed on a distribution point, clients will not be able to access the advertised software.

The basic concept behind Security Services is the notion of a single sign-on
(SSO) session. An SSO session spans one or more Teamcenter applications. It is
established after the user is successfully authenticated through a Teamcenter login,
which occurs as a side effect of the user accessing the first Teamcenter application.
The session terminates either after the user logs out of each Teamcenter application
or after the session expires.
Session expiration occurs if there is no interaction with Security Services over some
configurable span of time, even if the user is actively using one or more Teamcenter
applications. However, SSO session expiration does not affect a user’s current
session with any Teamcenter application; it simply means they receive another login
challenge if they start another Teamcenter application.
The Security Services installation package consists of the following components:
• LoginService
In the Web Application Manager, this appears as Teamcenter Security Services
Login Service Web Application.
• IdentityService
In the Web Application Manager, this appears as Teamcenter Security Services
Identity Service Web Application.
• A default identity provider implementation that is used by Security Services and
