1.3.15. Set ExtraThis dialog box allows for three cases (#1,#2,#3) using file selection boxes to chose a lug-file containinggeometry or a lid-file. Pressing load, the geometry/lid is loaded, clear removes the respective geometry/lidfrom the scene. Pressing the "..." buttons open a file selection box to select the geometry/lid. Loading anextra geometry is sometimes useful if a lens should be added when designing for example a projector typeheadlamp. It is also helpful to add a preexisting beam pattern into the setup to compare the own resultingpattern with it.
1.3.18. Save/Load Configs, Save SetupsThere are two ways to save a file in the MF dialog, each with its own benefits.1. To save a configuration file (Save Config), which stores all of the setups parameters in a file that is justa list of variables. A configuration file allows to reenter (Load Config) the MF design application, and con-tinue with the setup or make changes.
2. To an experiment file (Save Setup), which will store all of your application data. The application dataincludes the geometry, sensors, etc. (sometimesmore useful than saving a list of variables). All of the settingsused to create the experiment are not saved (it is not possible to edit the setup with this option).

To CatiaThe To CATIA buttonwill open a COMconnection between LucidShape and CATIA V5, allowing to send yourgeometry directly to CATIA.Figure 1.58: Catia TransferFor more information on the LucidShape to CATIA transfer option, please see the LucidShape Tutorial-CADData Exchange
