Dynamic Multibody Unit Injector System using ABAQUS/Explicit

The dynamic simulation of the UIS has been carried out for many years using the commercial
software MSC/Adams. Since version 11 of MSC/Adams Bosch engineers have been partly re-
placing the rigid bodies with flexible bodies.


The combination of MBS- and FEM-functionality is a trend which was picked up by Abaqus in
version 6. Through that development it is possible to define rigid bodies and joints (so-called connector elements). From version 6.2 on, the bug-fixing has reached a point where a complex, industrial application could be tackled.
