Autocad tutorial-- pump bonnet drawing

 pump bonnet is one of the important parts in mechanical, it can support the gear , gear shaft and so on. This example shows the method of how to draw a pump bonnet. The shape of the pump bonnet is shown in Figure 0. The details of drawing are introduced in the following steps.

Task 1. Adopt the template file    

Adopt the template file in the disk which belongs to the book. Choose the pull-down menu → , select template in the dialog box and then find the file ,

D\AutoCAD2009.2\system_file\part_temp_A2.dwg, and then single click the  button.

Task 2.  Creat the left view.

Step 1.set up new layers in Figure 1.

(1) Click thebutton and then the  button to create a new draw layer called center line layer , modify the line type is center and the colour is red.

(2) Create a new draw layer called solid line layer, modify the lineweight is 0.3, and another layer called dimension layer , modify the colour is blue, others remained the same.
