2. Initialization
You should see a dialog as shown in Figure 2, set the "Unit System" to English
and "Geometry type" to Axisymmetric. Click ‘"Next"’.
3. Geometry input
In page “Geometry” (See Figure 3), you can import or generate object geometry.
For object "Billet", first select "Billet" on the object list, and then click on "import"
button to import geometry. Look for directory "Labs\PreformOpt\" and open file
"billet2.GEO". Similarly, for object "Target", import geometry for from file
"target2.GEO".
Here we will use "Finisher Die Auto. Generation" to create geometry for finisher
upper die. Input 0.7, 0.4, 2, and 0.0 for "Flash radius", "Flash thickness", "Flash
length", and Parting plane (R)", respectively. Click on "Gen. Upper Die" button to
generate geometry.
In this lab, we assume that the upper and lower halves are symmetric; therefore no
lower die will be needed. Click “Next”
