Teamcenter and Compatible Third-Party Software Versions
The Teamcenter server installation manuals document the minimum version of
operating systems, compilers, databases, client browsers, and other third-party
software with which Teamcenter Security Services 2005 is compatible. Because
Teamcenter releases are asynchronous with the release of compatible third-party
software, it is possible for Teamcenter customers to acquire and install a newer
version of third-party software before UGS has the opportunity to certify it.
UGS’s standard policy with respect to new versions of operating systems,
compilers, databases, client browsers, and other third-party software relies on the
manufacturers’ guarantees. If the manufacturer guarantees that the new version
of its product is binary-compatible with the preceding version, UGS expects our
products to function properly when running on the new version. Our experience
shows that virtually no problems are encountered when executing Teamcenter with
a third-party version later than the version on which we completed our certi fication
testing.
