A “Board” as in a DSP board is equivalent to a PC card.
In this manual we use the term “expansion slot” for a position on an ISA/EISA PC bus
that can hold a DSP board or PC card.
We use the term “module” extensively. The TAXI Interface Module ZD 0815 is a 3/4
length PC card that must be fitted in the PC and interfaces the acquisition front-end
to the DSP boards. Front-end acquisition “modules” are Brüel & Kjær signal conditioning cards and Signal Analyzer Interface Module Type 7521 that fit in a
Brüel & Kjær acquisition front-end frame.
