Step1: Select the workbench
1.Launch solidworks2009
2.Select Start>new >a 3d representation.of a singe desinge compoent
3.Save file .Rename PartBody “connection plate”
Step2:Draw the bottom of connection plate
1.Set the workbenth “front plane",click the
icon,creat a new sketch1 (or click the
icon) with the line
icon sketch fillet
icon,centerline
iron , and smart dimension
icon.Look at Figure2.Don’t forget to quit the sketch workbench.

2. Surface-Extrude1. The path:insert>Surface >Extrude (or click Surface Extrude
icon in the Surface toolbar). Select’Mid Plane’in the termination conditions as shown in Figure3.Look at the Figure4. Be careful the direction.

3 . Surface-Offset1. The path:insert>Surface >Offset (or click Surface Extrude
icon in the Surface toolbar.
